Kim Skelton

As a North Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS), Kim's driving force is helping others create a life worth living. Kim has advanced training in trauma and addiction, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP) and in Chinese Stone and Crystal Medicine (Level 3) through Clarity Stone Medicine with local teacher Sarah Thomas, L.Ac. 

Kim's educational background includes earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology (2003) and a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling (2005) from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL, where she grew up. Before moving to Asheville in 2011, she lived in Atlanta where she worked in a university setting, community mental health center and later school-based mental health. Prior to building her practice in Asheville, she worked in a community health setting providing outpatient mental health and substance dependence therapy in a clinic, school-setting and a domestic violence shelter. 

Kim is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Association for Creativity in Counseling and is actively involved with the NC Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, paddling, gardening, photography, writing and playing with her furry, four-legged-children, Merlin and Simon.

April Easter

April provides relationship based individual, group, couples and family counseling. Her areas of expertise include integrated care for mental health and addictions, trauma recovery, EMDR, enhancing motivation for change as well as challenges of intimacy and relationships. April is also experienced in counseling and support for those with thought disorders such as schizophrenia. 

She is trained in intervention and treatment for chemical addiction as well as sex and video game/technology addiction. 


April was Clinical Director for the Cooperriis 85Z and Asheville Community Program for several years. Her role was to ascertain that quality clinical support was provided to community members. She also served as an Addictions Specialist for the Asheville branch which included integrated care for people who have challenges with both addiction and mental health challenges.


It is not surprising that April has played a key role in the creation and direction of Widening Circles. Her expertise and passions have come together to offer quality care in collaboration with the other Widening Circles providers.

Dr. Ilona Csapo

Ilona Csapo, MD, is a nationally renowned, Dartmouth-trained psychiatrist, addictionologist and treatment consultant with over 13 years experience working with buprenorphine, addiction and dually-diagnosed conditions. 

She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Dartmouth Medical School in 2002 and completed a general psychiatry residency at University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM in 2006. She decided to become a certified Suboxone provider in 2004 after witnessing the positive impact it had on patients' lives. Dr. Csapo is board certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (#59210) and with the American Board of Addiction Medicine (#2010112). She is also a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the North Carolina Medical Society. 

Dr. Csapo offers individual psychiatry for adults and specializes in providing compassionate, experienced and customized psychiatric care for a range of mental health and addiction-related conditions. She is comfortable and competent in treating dually-diagnosed patients - from an acute onset of symptoms to the management of chronic mental illness. At times, clients come wanting to minimize or taper their psychiatric medications. Dr. Csapo is committed to working with each patient to meet individualized goals in a safe and responsible manner. 

In her free time, Dr. Csapo loves mountain biking, hiking, swimming, reading and spending time with her handsome Irish Wolfhound Sam and sweet hound mix, Isaa.
